TED

I have lots of assignments to do these days. Among them, one assignment is to make a lesson plan for the middle or high school students using TED Talk. When I heard about the assignment from my professor, I thought it could be difficult for the most middle or high school students. And I even doubted about the effect of using English lectures in the classroom. That is because the speakers of TED Talk usually speak quickly, and there must be difficult topics that students can’t understand well. In addition, I thought students tend to avoid those English lectures according to my school experiences. But, after watching several TED lectures, I found that I had really focused on the speaker in that video clip, and even laughed. So I realized this could be helpful for the students more than I thought before. The various contents of TED are so creative or funny that students as well as I can be motivated. Frankly speaking, I was very impressed by some TED Talks. So I even downloaded the smart phone application of TED. Probably it could be my new hobby from this year. But, what I have to do for understanding and enjoying the lectures completely, I need to study English more and more to watch them without subtitles. Besides, I have to think about various ways to apply TED video clips to the English teaching.
